Wella Trend Vision ROKK n' BIBA

Monday night held the biggest event on the Wella Professional calender......The National Wella Trend Vision Finals.
Finalists from around the country battled it out for GOLD.
I'm proud to say that the Gold Award winners of the Young Talent category were Mariam Enegd and Trish Sousa, Biba.
and the Gold Award winners of the Colour Category were Marie Uva and Joey Scandizzo, Rokk Ebony.
The two teams will head to Paris later this year to represent Australia on an international level.
Having attended the Wella International Finals in Lisbon, Portugal back in 2008 I can first hand speak of the enormity and prestige associated with this competition.
Enormity, prestige and hilarity!!
Breakfast in the communal dining room.... Sweden, Greece, Uruguay......all huddling around the cornflakes and skim milk hushing there conversations, shielding their prize winning hair model with a head scarf and big glasses. i'm not even joking.
Basically it was euro-vision for hairdressers.
I loved it!
The competition is a once in a lifetime experience (or three times if your Marie Uva and Joey Scandizzo.... hopefully third time lucky!). With themes like Techno Poetry and Nomad Couture i have no doubt the interpretations given by some wacky Europeans will blow your socks of....examples below:
Theme: Natures Goddess
Hair Style: Sculpted hair into the shape of a bird, model wrapped in bark.
Theme: Midnight Stage:
Hair Style: Black sleek bob with stars bleached out of the fringe, model dressed in red velvet stage curtain.
It really opens your eyes to the caliber and quality of work produced in Australia.
I wish I was going, I hope Patrick Cameron is hosting the awards night again and above all I hope AUSTRALIA brings home the title!!!!!!!!
Best of luck to both BIBA and ROKK EBONY.
